3. Free Greetings for All Seasons

We heard you!!! You wrote in droves to say you liked the Holiday Greetings site we added just before Christmas.

To create a special card for your very own Valentine, complete with music if you like, check out the new greeting card offerings by clicking on the CareerOwl Greetings link at www.CareerOwl.ca. Give Valentine You'll find a range of other sorts of greeting cards there as well, and the collections of pictures available for creating birthday, get well and other sorts of greeting cards will be augmented every month or so from now on. There's even an option for you to create greeting cards using your own digital pictures.

The featured digital photoartist for the CareerOwl Greeting site is Theresa Pugh. Theresa Pugh's work will also be featured as part of a special Valentine's exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery, opening night, February 13th, reception, 6:00 - 8:00pm. The show will run until the 28th of February.

Watch for the announcement of the grand opening of our French language greetings site as soon we've been able to get feedback from users on the new features of the English greetings card site.

For those wanting to see and make a difference in the world beyond the borders of Canada, volunteers are need to help out in Africa.

In Gabrone, Botswana, volunteers are needed to join the FIGHT TO STOP THE SPREADING OF AIDS IN AFRICA This position involves an 11-month TCE program (Total Control of the Epidemic), beginning with a 4-month training and work camp in California in the United States, then a 6 month term of TCE work in Africa followed by a 1-month information work period back in the United States again. Tasks include door to door actions in African villages, organizing and information work, running positive living clubs for HIV infected persons, social work with AIDS orphans, teaching at schools and work places, and fundraising. No prior experience or qualifications are needed to be considered for these positions. (In other words, this could be a good way for someone with lots of drive and ability but no experience to gain some.) There are start dates in both February and August.

A volunteer is also needed to work in Maputo, Mozambique, Africa. This is a potential life changing experience that can make a difference. The work will involve teaching street children, training teachers, working in schools, helping to combat AIDS, and being a development instructor in Mozambique. This is an 11-14 month program that starts out with 4-6 months training/work at a camp in California. There is a program fee for the training camp, but grants are available to help defray these expenses.
